Today, I discovered that my favorite penetrating oil has been out of production for a long time.
None to be found. I has a sad. RIP, old friend.

It always annoys me when a product I like is discontinued. I can't begin to list the number of times that's happened.
I've been using Aerokroil for a while, and love it. If you need a replacement penetrating oil, give this a try.

Aside from the fact that it genuinely was really good shit, you just have to love a company that will name a product like that. I currently have several hundred bottles of liquid wrench to go through, but I have used Aerokroil in the past, and it's quite nice. Next time I see some I'll pick up a can.

For all purposes related with the unlocking, lubrication and preservation of delicate mechanical movements , I've always been using a Contact Cleaner product (like this one by Philips), even if (since I live in Europe) I find more easily the corresponding product by Arexons. This from the time when I was used to spray penetrating oil in my car's locks, and I got them so blocked that I had to disassemble them and let them immersed in gasoline for one night. Than a friend suggested me to use the Contact Cleaner, that removes any oxydation and leaves a THIN lubricant layer, that will never jam the delicate interlocked mechanisms. Like the safe lock of my apt. that is 25 years old, and still feels like new after I treat it with the Contact Cleaner a couple of times per year. Same for the locks of my car's doors: a little spray before the winter season, and they never get blocked by ice or dirt. Of course, when you need to unlock a rusty bolt it's only the CRC Marine, but this is another story.

For contact cleaner, I usually use this.
The more toxic it is, the better it works!

I'm a millwright and we use this ...

I'm not a millwright, but Kroil is freaking awesome.
EVERY Lemons build starts with Kroil. The night before you're going to start taking stuff apart, go put some Kroil on all the fasteners that you think are going to give you trouble.
Then, the next day, you just go remove the fasteners. This stuff is fantastic. You can get it in aerosol (Aero Kroil) or in a regular old can.

As an old friend of mine used too say.
"If it causes Cancer in California it's guaranteed to work."

That's my general philosophy.

I PB'd a bunch of parts on the old 944's engine yesterday.
Then I washed my hands and made a sammich.
I'm 99.9999999% sure I ended up eating chipotle mayonnaise with penetrating blaster in one mouthful. Yecch.

Mechanix gloves are for the weak. Besides, pb blaster will make all the things in your stomach that are stuck become unstuck.

Oh, yeah. That happened.
